Residents living at Columbus House attend an Educational Program on a regular basis. The program focuses on independent living skills, job
preparation and learning household responsibilities.
Eligibility - *This is a VOLUNTARY Co-Ed Program
* Between 16 and 21 years of age
* Attending or willing to return to an Educational Program
(ie. High School, Alternative School, Teen Compass Educational Credit Program or a combination of these choices)
* Able to live with up to seven other youth (co-ed)
* Willing to assist with volunteer work in the community along side the other residents & staff

- Please note that we do have a policy of no drugs or paraphernalia on the property as well as no vaping or vaping
devices including pods on the property at any time!
Christmas is a special time of the year for celebration and that certainly rings true at the residence! Our residents and staff celebrate
together at our annual Christmas party in mid December. Last year COVID guidelines pushed us to become incredibly creative so we could
still enjoy our Christmas dinner together in an outdoor setting…. check out the pics below!
Pleas Note -The Residence is Closed from December 23rd-December 31st - ALL Residents return to family and/or friends during this time

EMERGENCY BEDS
Columbus House does not currently provide emergency beds. If you are in need of an emergency bed please the Renfrew County Safe Shelter for Youth Program at 613 735-6866 ext. 0 (during the week) and ask to speak with the Safe Shelter for Youth Worker. On weekends please call 1-855-539-3014 and ask for assistance with the Safe Shelter Bed.
